With long distances from point to point when it comes to hiking, Paros has beautiful routes. Yet be prepared for long walks if you are a going on a walking trip to Paros Greece. Both inland and coastal footpaths are available giving you the chance to admire nature from a variety of viewpoints.

There is wonderful spring scenery around Paros footpaths with valleys and hillsides being full of bloomed flowers, yet during early summer you will see flowers and throughout the warmest of months smell the aromas of the herbs and shrubs blown by the summer breeze.

Paros footpaths range from 12 km to 20 km long -even longer in some cases. Below you will view some of the suggested Paros footpaths.

The Byzantine Road

The old Byzantine hiking path also known as the Byzantine Road bringing you from the small village of Prodromos to the picturesque village Lefkes is one of the classic footpaths in Paros and takes a bit more than an hour walk.

Lefkes to Aliki

If you are an avid hiker you may want to be challenged and walk from the village of Lefkes to Aliki through Agios Ioannis Kaparos, Agios Georgios, Aneratza and Kamari, which takes a full 6 hour hike -including a picnic break. Upon arrival in Aliki, reward yourself with a refreshing swim at Aliki Beach.

Marathi to Marble Quarries

This is a 4 km walk bringing you from Marathi to the Marble Mines and then to Agios Minas monastery walking along a valley. Both the mines and the monastery are well worth a visit, and the stroll can be relaxing as the hiking route is easy.

Cape Korakas & Cape Almiros

If you prefer a coastal route you may want to explore those capes by starting from Kolympithres towards the tip of Cape Korakas where a lighthouse stands. Passing from some beaches and the monastery of Agios Ioannis you will find yourself to Cape Almiros and then you can take all the way back to Kolimpithres. The route is an approximate 12 km hike.

In most cases you need to take a bus or a taxi from Kosmitis Residence Paros in Naoussa in order to reach the starting point of most Paros footpaths. There are also trekking and walking tours in Paros Greece organized by hiking clubs.
